Every once in a while, Action will do something where I’m not sure how to react; do I laugh, or get angry? Fortunately, this story was one where I chose to laugh.
The Missus and I had been trying to teach Action how to say “I love you.” Of course, Action is looking at us like “No Speak English.” Mind you, at this point this kid can count to 10 and knows at least half of the alphabet. Plus, she understands complex sentences like, “Action, go get Daddy’s PS4 controller and turn on the Game.” so I’m not buying this sudden lack of understanding.
Whatever. At this point, I’m like she’ll say it when she says it.
Fast forward 3 weeks later. Action woke up in one of her moods and was giving me Hell as I tried to get Ready for work. Needless to say, she wasn’t my favorite person at the moment. I got dressed and start to walk out the door when Action comes running from the back yelling, “DaddyDaddyDaddyDaddyDaddyDaddyDaddyDaddyDaddy!”
“Aaah, Whaddaya want?” I asked, mildly irritated, opening the door.
“I yuv yoo Dah-deee!
Now I’m all like
and my heart start swelling like the Grinch’s
Feeling bad for getting frustrated with Action, I try to make amends. I bend down to look at her and said,
Yeeeaaah, that really happened.
Like I said, you either get angry, or you laugh. Whatcha gonna do? She got me good, the little butt-munch. Needless to say, whenever she runs to the door to say goodbye, I make sure I step back and wave from a distance
