After numerous battles with Action, I’ve slowly come to accept my fate that every diaper changing session would be a knock-down, drag-out fight. Well Hell, I figured, if that’s gonna be the case, I might as well get myself a theme song.
It didn’t take long for me to choose a song after that initial thought. No sooner did I think “Theme Song,” than Bill Conti’s “Gonna Fly now,” popped into my head. (That’s the “Rocky” theme song for you young’uns)
I found the song on Youtube and added it to Action’s playlist. Then, I awaited the next slug fest.
Boy, was I in for a surprise.
Our ritual started off in the usual manner. Action sees me pull out the diaper and changing pad, runs over, knocks everything on the floor and makes a break for it.
I pull up Action’s playlist on my phone and start playing the Rocky Theme song. Then, I start cleaning up the mess Action made, while wondering why we didn’t just get a dog. To my surprise, I look up to see Action, slowly walking towards my phone. She was captivated by the music playing. I reach out to grab Action and she didn’t run away. She then let’s me change her with Zero fight.
I’m dumbfounded. Wanting to make sure it wasn’t a fluke, I played the song for 3 days straight with the same result! You mean to tell me that all I had to do was play this damn song from the beginning and I wouldn’t have had all this headache? Now, she won’t let me change her without playing the song. The best part is when she holds her arms up in triumph after I finished changing her Like Rocky did when he ran the Steps at City Hall.
SHEEEEIIT. Live and learn I guess.
I admit, I will kind of miss the adventures of our diaper brawls. However, I’m sure Action come up with something else to drive me crazy We are about to start potty training her after all.
Wish us luck.
